1968 Omega Seamaster 600 Vintage Mens Handwound Watch - 18K Gold Plated & Stainless Steel

Item No. 5864

Today's offering showcases this classic and very cool vintage Seamaster 600 mens watch. The 600 series was named because of the movement that powers the watch. Besides being hand-wound, a less common trait for a Seamaster, the Seamaster 600 also features a slightly thinner case than automatic Seamasters.

It measures 34.5mm in diameter without the crown, just about the same width as a Rolex Date watch (a millimeter and a half smaller than a Rolex Datejust). It has the look of a solid gold Seamaster for a fraction of the price.

It has been meticulously restored as part of a true expert restoration and presents as mint condition. It is fully Omega down to the winding crown. The dial has been expertly refinished and the quality of the gilt printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

The well-made Omega caliber 601 handwound movement is adjusted to two positions and has fine regulation. As part of the restoration it has just been serviced by a Master Watchmaker - it is quite pristine and running very true. Note that the coloring of the movement came out looking off-tone in the photos. In person it is the nice traditional copper beryllium (rose gold) tone.

For the finishing touch a new leather strap has been installed making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.

A four decade old Omega that presents like new on the wrist!

The Seamaster:
Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been were embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.
