1968 Omega Seamaster Geneve Mens Vintage Cal. 565 Watch with Shamrock Green Dial, Double Signed Version - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 9957

Today's offering showcases this very cool vintage Seamaster Geneve 166.002 mens watch.

This reference is especially interesting because it was normally branded as a Seamaster or occasionally as a Geneve. However a few were double signed as a Seamaster Geneve. While Geneve signed examples are seen much less often than Seamaster signed examples, double signed versions like this one are seldom found.

It has a very classic Seamaster case design with screwback case embossed with the Seamonster logo and distinctive shamrock green dial.

It measures approximately 34.5mm in diameter without the crown, in between the sizes of a Rolex Date and a Rolex Datejust.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 565 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. It is the highest level offering of the 500 series. It has 24 jewels and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.

It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It has all of its original parts and presents in amazing restored condition - a 9.8 out of 10.

Its case presents as mint. Its lugs retain strong lines. The back shows lights of previous polishing - the rest of the case has hardly been polished. Its dial has been meticulously custom refinished in shamrock green - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration, the very fine caliber 565 movement with fine swans neck regulation has been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It is running very strong and true, keeping time on par with a new Omega in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, it has been equipped with a new leather strap with aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.

Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime.
