1968 Omega Seamaster Mens Vintage Cal. 565 Watch, Automatic, Date - 18K Gold Plated & Stainless Steel

Item No. 8915

Today's offering showcases this elegant and high-grade Omega Seamaster from circa 1968. It has the most classic Seamaster case design with screwback case embossed with the Seamonster logo and classic and strong black dial.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 565 movement, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. It is the highest level offering of the 500 series. It has 24 jewels and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.

It is full size for the era - 34.5mm, which is in between the size of the Rolex Date and the Rolex Datejust. It features a so-called "tropical" or "hypo-allergenic" case with gold-plated top and steel back for a more durable and skin-friendly construction.

It has fully Omega parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration.

Its case presents as mint condition. Its dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration the movement has been freshly fully serviced by a Master Watchmaker. It is running very strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a new Omega in our testing position.

For the finishing touch it has been equipped with a brand new leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

A more than half-century old Omega restored to look like new on the wrist.
