1968 Omega Seamaster Mens Vintage Cal. 565 Watch, Automatic, Date - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 9765

Today's offering showcases this very fine and striking Omega Seamaster late 1960's with classic Seamaster case design and beautiful royal blue vignette dial.

It circa dates to 1968 where it might have laid next to the Speedmaster Professional that were being used in the space program and ultimately would be headed to the Moon.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 565 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs It was the top tier offering of the 500 series. It has 24 jewels and a quick-setting date and was one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.

Its monococque - or one-piece - Omega case is emblazoned on the back with the Seamaster logo. When new it achieved high water resistance ratings by not having a separate case back. It measures 34.5mm in diameter, in between the size of the Rolex Date and the Rolex Datejust.

It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous condition.

Its case presents as mint with light signs of previous polishing. Its dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration, it has just been fully overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping very accurate time.

*Please kindly note that the date and hands were not set when the photos were taken. The date flips perfectly.

For the finishing touch, we equipped it with a brand new calfskin leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
