Today's offering showcases this classic and original Breitling "Top Time" chronograph. It has a great distinctive late '60's retro look that the original orange hand complements, yet it still is elegant. The centerpiece of the watch it is beautiful so-called "Panda" dial with retro markers and matching hand and orange seconds hand.
It has a Breitling finished Valjoux 7730 movement with 45-minute timing system for recording of events. The original dial is easy to read dial with contrasting "panda" black registers. The dial also features an outer tachometer ring to easily measure the speed of objects, done especially for aviation and auto racing uses.
At 37mm in diameter, its large gold-filled and steel case fills out the wrist very nicely. Its movement is clean and running true, and the chronograph resets strongly and precisely to 12.
Several years ago our watchmaker cleaned and oiled the movement. It was purchased from us then and became part of the discerning collection of a renowned pediatrician whose collection we are selling.
It comes on a Hirsch crocograin and would also look great a colored band or multi-colored NATO strap if you wanted a more fashion forward style.
Included with the purchase is a 90-day C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
Breitling:
"There has never been anyone in a plane's cockpit without a Breitling ... on his wrist -- or who would at least wished to have one." - Musings of an aviation journalist
Since its founding in 1884, the Breitling firm has been known for working tirelessly to define what the perfect watch should be. Embraced by pilots since the dawning of aeronautics, Breitling watches are the only ones that grace the wrists of the world's elite aerobatic groups, namely the Blue Angels, the Thunderbirds, The British Red Arrows, and the Russian Knights.
Vintage examples of Breitling's chronographs are sought after by collector's, aviation enthusiasts, Hollywood celebrities and anyone who desires to wear a fine timepiece.
