Omega's flagship line for decades, the Constellation represents style, luxury, attention to detail, robust function, and most all, superior precision. Elegant and stately, it is suitable for both casual and professional dress.
Today's offering showcases this retro styled classic Constellation chronometer with beautiful royal blue vignette dial.
While most of the examples of this style came in all steel cases, this less common example has its original 18K white gold bezel.
It circa dates to 1969 where it might have laid next to the Speedmaster Professional that would be headed to the Moon.
Featuring an officially certified automatic chronometer movement with quick-set date and a robust case, this late 60's - early 70's era Omega demonstrates why the Constellation was the company's flagship line.
Powering the watch is Omega's very fine thin automatic caliber 751 movement, the top-tier offering in the 700 line. It has 24 jewels and is adjusted to five positions.
The 700 series has a direct lineage to the celebrated 500 series, and is arguably as good, and collectors are beginning to recognize it accordingly. The 500 and 700 series were one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from the era.
Pleasingly full size for the era, it measures 36.3mm, slightly larger than a Rolex Datejust.
Here are some of its features:
It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous condition - about a 9.7 out of 10. Our photos couldn't do it justice!
The case presents as mint with only light signs of previous polishing to the back. The case sides have perfect high-polished facets - on the wrist, the case presents like new.
The original Omega dial has been meticulously custom refinished - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
As part of the restoration, a Master Watchmaker has freshly overhauled it. We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping time virtually on par with a new Omega.
For the finishing touch, we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
A more than half-century old Omega that looks like new on the wrist!
