Today's offering showcase this gorgeously restored example of one of Omega's classic vintage ref. 162.046 De Ville watches.

Living up to it name as one of the elegant and sophisticated "De Ville" models, it has a classic case, absolutely fantastic royal blue dial with tuxedo cartouches, and automatic caliber 1002 movement used in Seamasters from the era. Our photos couldn't do it justice.

It circa dates to 1969 where it might have laid next to the Speedmaster Professional that would be headed to the Moon.

This De Ville has one of those dials that becomes more interesting the closer you look. At first glance, the royal blue sunburst finish gives the watch a rich, elegant presence, but the real character comes from the way Omega treated the hour markers.

The faceted silver cartouches at 12, 3, 6, and 9 are miniature design features in their own right, with fine horizontal tuxedo-style striping that shifts dramatically with the light. At one angle the stripes appear with sharply defined facets; at another they brighten almost shockingly, giving the markers a changing, dimensional quality that is impossible to capture in photographs. That detail gives the dial an unusual sense of sophistication.

The result is a vintage Omega that feels much more special than a conventional example of this reference, which usually has plain baton makers. Its royal blue finish supplies richness and depth, while the changing cartouches reward movement and close inspection. Paired with the slender case and dark blue strap, it has an elegant, slightly unexpected personality that feels distinctly vintage without seeming dated.

It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous condition - it presents as a 9.7 out of 10.

Its case presents as mint with strong lines. Its original Omega dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done.

As part of the restoration, a Master Watchmaker has freshly overhauled the movement. It is running strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a new Omega in our testing position.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a new complementary colored dark blue calf leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment. It would also pair very nicely with a black strap.
