Today's offering showcases this gorgeously restored example of one of Omega's classic vintage gent's Geneve watches.
Powering the watch is its original caliber 601 handwound movement adjusted to two positions. It is a non-date version of the the 600 series of movements that powered many of Omega's watches from the era including Seamasters and was even worked into a chronometer version.
It is 100% Omega down to the original hands, winding crown and even the original crystal! It presents in true expertly restored condition. The photos couldn't do it justice.
The case presents as just short of perfect mint. The original dial has been meticulously custom refinished in a beautiful emerald or money green tone. The printing could pass as Omega factory without heavy magnification.
As part of the restoration a Master Watchmaker has just disassembled it down to the last screw and overhauled it. It is running strong.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new green calfskin leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
A more than four decade old Omega that looks like new on the wrist!
Omega watches can be found on the wrists of many prominent figures including Pierce Brosnan, Michael Schumacher, Michael Phelps, Ernie Els, Prince William, and one graced the wrist of President John F. Kennedy. Omega has been the official timekeeper for 21 Olympic Games and is the official chronometer of NASA.
Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve) and later expanded the line of watches featuring the name. According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.
