1969 Omega Geneve Vintage Mens Large 37mm Cal. 565 Watch with Blue Dial - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 9992

Today's offering showcases this very fine example of one of Omega's classic vintage gent's Geneve watches.

We have owned several of these, and it is our presumption that it was sold in not large quantities and presumed to be made for the Japanese market. We acquired the watch from Tokyo.

It circa dates to 1969 where it might have laid next to the Speedmaster Professional that was headed to to the Moon. It offers some of the things that we really like from Omegas in this period.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 565 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs, and the top tier offering of the 500 series. It has 24 jewels and a quick-setting date and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from the era.

It has a wonderful retro waterproof style case and royal blue dial. It is large for the era, measuring 37mm in diameter - larger than a Rolex Datejust.

It has all of its original parts and has just finished an expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous condition.

Its case presents as mint with only light signs of having ever been polished. Its original Omega dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. Our photos couldn't do justice to its true deep and rich royal blue color!

As part of the restoration, a Master Watchmaker has overhauled it. We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping time nearly on par with a brand new Omega in our testing.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new leather strap with aftermarket Omega style logo has been installed making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.

Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime. We provide the best after sale care in the business with an extremely experienced team of four Master Watchmakers all of whom each have over thirty-five years of experience and a large number of parts. One used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealership and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center.

A five and a half decade old Omega that presents essentially like new on the wrist!

Omega Geneve:

Omega watches can be found on the wrists of many prominent figures including Pierce Brosnan, Michael Schumacher, Michael Phelps, Ernie Els, and Prince William, and one graced the wrist of President John F. Kennedy. Omega has been the official timekeeper for 21 Olympic Games and is the official chronometer of NASA.

Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve) and later expanded the line of watches featuring the name. According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.
