Today's offering showcases this very cool vintage Seamaster 600 mens watch. The 600 series was named because of the movement that powers the watch. Besides being hand-wound, a less common trait for a Seamaster, the Seamaster 600 also features a slightly thinner case than automatic Seamasters.
It measures 34.5mm in diameter without the crown, about the width of a Rolex Date watch (a millimeter and a half smaller than a Rolex Datejust).
It has been restored and presents in beautiful condition. It is fully Omega down to the hands and original winding crown.
On the wrist it presents as mint condition. The case back shows signs of previous polishing - the logo is no longer visible or the back may have been replaced at some point with an original Omega back with the correct reference number but without an imprinted logo as Omega made this reference number with both unsigned backs and signed Seamaster backs.
The dial has been expertly refinished and the quality of the printing for the Omega and Seamaster wording could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
The caliber 613 handwound movement is adjusted to two positions. As part of the restoration it has been freshly fully serviced by a Master Watchmaker and is running very true.
(Note that the rose colored plating came out looking a different tone in the photos from how it appears in person).
For the finishing touch we have installed a new leather strap.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
A four decade old Omega that presents on the wrist almost like new!
Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been were embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.
