The wristwatch showcased in today's offering is an Omega made for the America market. In essence an American version of the Seamaster without the model's moniker on the dial, it is both waterproof (originally) and automatic.
It is powered by one of Omega's well-regarded 500 series of movements that powered models like the Seamaster and Constellation. These mechanisms were the bi-directional winding automatic movements made to replace the company's uni-directional winding "bumper" mechanisms.
Housing the superb mechanism is a shapely gold-filled and stainless steel case. It is a so-called "Tropical or Hypoallergenic" example with a gold filled top with original stainless steel back. These characteristics make it more skin friendly, as well as much more rugged and durable when worn in warm climates.
The watch remains in original condition. The case is in excellent condition. The original silver dial is just short mint. And the Omega Caliber 550 movement is very clean.
Our watchmaker has freshly serviced the movement. We have also equipped it with a new crocodile band making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
