1970 Bulova Deep Sea 666 ft. Divers Vintage Mens Ghost Coke Bezel Chronograph Watch - Stainless Steel

Bulova

Item No. 5734

One of the iconic mid-century American watch companies was Bulova headquartered in New York City. Though the company had a movement factory in Switzerland, to use the cliche, their offerings were as American as baseball and apple pie and could be found on many Americans' wrists. In 1941 Bulova ran the world's first TV commercial: a simple ad showing an outline of the United States with a superimposed Bulova clock and the caption "America Runs on Bulova Time".

Today's offering showcases this cool Accutron Deep Sea "666" Feet in a diver's case with elapsed time bezel. Originally carrying a $100 price tag, it boasted a depth rating of 666 feet. It is a great looking and slightly exotica example of a Bulova chronograph.

It is fully original down to the dial, partial "ghost" bezel, all hands, and original crown.

Powering the watch is its fine original Valjoux 7733 movement.

Here are some its features:

  • Desirable "666" model with revolving elapsed time bezel
  • Valjoux 7733 engine used by Heuer, Breitling, and many others in their sporty chronographs of the era
  • Reverse panda dial with contrasting light subdials
  • Waterproof style case originally depth rated to 666 feet
  • Easy to read orange chronograph hand

With their rugged cases which are full size without being bulky, classic and distinctive yet understated styling, and Valjoux movements, it's easy to see why these chronographs continue to gain attention and collect ability.

We have fitted it with a Kevlar® strap that complements the dial, main timing hands, and luminous dot. Five times stronger than steel, Kevlar® seemed a fitting material for the strap for this durable and robustly capable watch.

It is in honest unmolested original condition with crisp edges and and fine details.

Our watchmaker has cleaned and oiled the movement. Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
