1970 Omega Geneve Vintage Mens Cal. 563 Automatic Watch with Quick-Setting Date - 18K Gold Plated & Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 6073

Today's offering showcases this gorgeous restored example of one of Omega's classic vintage Geneve watches.

Powering the watch is Omega's very fine caliber 563 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. Omega's 500 series was one of the finest mass produced automatics from the era, and watches that feature these are excellent buys today because of their quality and relative ease and low cost for servicing.

It has a waterproof style case and distinctive dial. The case measures 34mm in diameter - the same size as a Rolex Date model and 2mm smaller than a Datejust.

It is fully Omega down to the hands and crown. It presents is in gorgeous true expertly restored condition. The case presents as mint and the dial is a perfect refinishing - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration the movement has been recently cleaned and oiled and a new Omega crown installed.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Omega Geneve:
Worn on the wrists of celebrities Michael Schumacher, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Phelps, and Ernie Els Omega timepieces rank with Rolex and other of the world's fine Swiss firms.

Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve) and later expanded the line of watches featuring the name. According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.
