1970 Omega Geneve Vintage Mens Cal. 565 Automatic Watch with Quick-Setting Date - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 5643

Today's offering showcases this gorgeous restored example of one of Omega's classic vintage Geneve watches.

Powering the watch is Omega's very fine caliber 565 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. It has a full size waterproof style case and distinctive dial.

It measures 35mm in diameter - one millimeter smaller than a Rolex Datejust. It is fully Omega down to the hands and crown. It is in gorgeous restored condition. The case presents as mint and the dial is a perfect refinishing - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration the movement has been freshly overhauled and is running very true. The movement is near pristine - it presents almost as nice as they come.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Omega Geneve:
Worn on the wrists of celebrities Michael Schumacher, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Phelps, and Ernie Els Omega timepieces rank with Rolex and other of the world's fine Swiss firms.

Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve) and later expanded the line of watches featuring the name. According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.
