Today's offering showcases this scarce and beautiful Certified Pre-Owned Cartier Ceinture watch. The Ceinture is one of Cartier's enduring and distinctive designs first produced in 1927. The company revived the watch in 1973 as part of their Collection Louis Cartier.
This pleasing original example features the iconic eight sided solid 18K gold Ceinture case, luxurious champagne Roman Cartier dial, and the company's distinctive blue steel sword hands and sapphire topped winding crown.
As a mens midsize, it is well-suited for a man with with smaller wrists or a woman.
Powering the watch is its original handwound mechanism. Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of cheaper quartz movements for certain wristwatches, Cartier utilized Swiss-crafted mechanical movements. Because of this extra care and craftsmanship, Cartier wristwatches with mechanical movements are often considered more desirable than their quartz counterparts.
We were fortunate to acquire it in very pleasing true all-original condition. It is all original down to the dial, hands, winding crown, Cartier band, and 18K solid gold Cartier deployment buckle (the buckle alone trades for approx. $700-$800 pre-owned).
Its case is in excellent condition with only light wear and light signs of previous polishing. Its original dial is just short of perfect mint.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Accompanying it is a red Cartier pouch.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
