1970's Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 Vintage Mens Retro Bakelite Divers Ref. 166.137 Watch - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 9893SH

Today's offering showcases this uncommon and large-for-the-era vintage Seamaster Cosmic 2000 with orignial bakelite diver's bezel.

In its day it would have been a versatile tool watch, and a robust diving timepiece competing with Rolex sports watches from the era.

It is an uncommon ref. 166.137, a collectible standout within the comparatively more pedestrian Seamaster Cosmic 2000 line.

It has a more substantial case than most Seamasters and high-pressure screwed down diving crown. It is much more of a true diver's watch than the "normal" Seamaster Cosmic 2000s.

It also has an integrated bracelet designed to pair with its tonneau case. Besides being thicker than most vintage Seamasters it's also larger, measuring a full 38mm by 44mm excluding the crown.

It presents in pleasing original condition. It has a classic retro design with tonneau shape, bakelite bezel, and divers or military style black luminous dial.

Powering the watch is Omega's caliber 1002 movement with a quick-setting date.

Its bezel has fairly light wear - it still presents nicely. The rest of the case presents as just short of mint with very light signs of previous polishing.

One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components including sourcing and installing a brand new and uncommon correct Omega mineral glass diving crystal for the watch, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $795 value).

It is keeping time like a new Omega in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
