Today's offering showcases this classic and striking Tissot Seastar. A chronograph with robust water-resistance when it was made, the Seastar allowed active men to now enjoy their diving activities to an even greater degree.
Besides being a watch that looks great - tastefully using color in the dial and hands to give a distinctive look, even more so now that the luminous has toned; and showcasing an interesting dial design and pure case with a well-made movement - it makes the watch a bit of a bargain.
Measuring 44mm in diameter without the crown, it has much presence on the wrist although the dial makes it wear a little smaller than 44mm in my opinion.
Powering this gem is the Lemania Caliber 873 movement, the sister movement of Omega's famous caliber 861 found as many of you know, in the Speedmaster. Mechanically, it is the exact same movement so it is easy to maintain and highly reliable.
It is fully original and comes on its original Gay Freres signed bracelet. For those not familiar, Freres made bracelets for some very high-end makers including Patek, AP, and Rolex when it was independent and was ultimately acquired by Rolex. It has a more compact "Oyster" style that fits the watch well.
Our watchmaker has just freshly serviced the movement. It is very clean. Please ask us if you would like inside photos.
We have not polished the case since we acquired it. If you would like us to satin finish the bezel to match the bracelet, please ask us.
Included with the purchase is a full one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
Tissot:
Since 1853, the Swiss watchmaker Tissot & Co. has been building quality timepieces, driven by an innovative spirit and a focus on highly skilled craftsmanship. In 1925, Tissot began an important association with Omega. Shortly thereafter (in 1930 to be exact), the SSIH Holding Company (Societe Suisse pour l'Industrie Horlogere) was founded with Omega and Tissot as its first members. In the 1930's the two company's even sold certain watches branded both Omega and Tissot.
