Today's offering showcases this classic and striking Tissot Navigator, considered by some to be the crown jewels of Tissot's 70's watches, in gorgeous original condition.
A dual crown watch with full compressor level water-resistance, this watch allowed active men to now enjoy their diving activities to an even greater degree.
It's a really cool looking watch and has the distinctive but tastefully done yellow hands, originally designed for maximum visibility under water. Coupled with its revolving bezel, it could be used track dive times, 24-hour military time, or as a GMT with second time zone.
With an interesting dial design, pure case and automatic movement, it a watch that's a bit of a bargain for under $1300 given all of its features and from a solid brand.
Measuring 44mm in diameter without the crown, it has much presence on the wrist although the dial makes it wear a little smaller than 44mm.
Powering this gem is Tissot's caliber 788 automatic movement with date.
It is fully original and comes on its original Gay Freres signed bracelet. Freres bracelets are very collectable as he made bracelets for some very high-end makers including Patek, AP, and Rolex when it was independent. The company was ultimately acquired by Rolex. The bracelet jas a bit of an Omega Speedmaster look to it.
It presents in mint original condition. It is fully original down to the dial, hands, and crown.
Included with the purchase is a full one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
A great addition to a fine divers collection!
Tissot:
Since 1853, the Swiss watchmaker Tissot & Co. has been building quality timepieces, driven by an innovative spirit and a focus on highly skilled craftsmanship. In 1925, Tissot began an important association with Omega. Shortly thereafter (in 1930 to be exact), the SSIH Holding Company (Societe Suisse pour l'Industrie Horlogere) was founded with Omega and Tissot as its first members. In the 1930's the two company's even sold certain watches branded both Omega and Tissot.
