1972 Omega Seamaster Vintage Mens Bracelet Watch, Automatic, Day Date - 18K Gold Plated & Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 6228

Today's offering showcases this beautiful vintage Omega Seamaster day date. It is all original, and the watch head is in beautiful condition. Please inquire if you would like to wear it on a leather strap.

Here are some of its features:

  * Pioneering "double quick-set" day and date features - Omega created the caliber 1020 and higher jeweled 1022 movement like this one with a double quick-set capability for convenient setting of the day and date. Though many connoisseurs associate the idea of the double quick-set watch with Rolex, which first offered the President model with this "new" feature in late 1990, Omega was a pioneer of the technology in large scale production watches, evidenced by this example made about a decade before.
* Full size retro case - Its diameter is 35mm, one millimetre smaller than a Rolex Datejust. It has a so-called "tropical" or "hypoallergenic" construction of 18K gold plating with a stainless steel back for more durability. It has the look of an 18K gold Omega for a small fraction of the price.
* Luxurious gold dial - The beautiful original dial is original and just short of perfect mint
* Faster beat (28,800 bph) balance system for greater accuracy

It has all of its original parts down to its original waterproofing gasket!

It case presents in beautiful condition, just short of mint. The case body is very honest. It has never been polished and it retains all of its original Omega and crisp high polished facets. It shows only light wear and no gold wear through.

The back has been previously polished and is scratch-free. The bracelet is original. Except for the clasp it presents in excellent condition. The clasp has rippling throughout but is very serviceable. If you would like the bracelet swapped for a leather strap, please inquire.

Four of our Master Watchmakers spent nearly SIX years breathing new life into the movement restoring it with correct parts and countless hours of their expertise so that it now functions extremely well and can be put into service for decades to come (restoration value $1695). Our loss is your gain.
