Created in 1967 by Omega's sales director Robert Forster, the Dynamic is an iconic example of a true retro style. The clean and functional watch, a considerable success for Omega, possessed a number of designed elements that made it stand out:
* Designed to be a great fit on any wrist, determined after extensive study
* Unicoc case with hermetically sealed crystal water-resistant to a depth of 30m.
* Available with a stainless steel bracelet or easily interchangeable water-resistant Cor-fam straps
According to an Omega advertisement at the time, "The shape of the Omega Dynamic was determined by the anatomy of your wrist; its dial by the workings of your eyes; it strap by the physiology of your skin."
Today's offering showcases this Dynamic in very rare new-old-stock condition with the original Omega factory applied lacquer still on the case back. This time capsule Dynamic is as nice as they come. Its condition is amazing - it appears to have been carefully stored away as old stock for it entire life. It looks brand new with essentially not even any handling wear.
Its has a fantastically large 41mm case that really has presence on the wrist. And its striking dark copper tone dial really catches the light. Our photos couldn't quite do it justice.
Powering the watch is its fine, automatic cal. 1012 Omega movement, used in Seamasters in the era and the higher jeweled version of the 1010, which has just been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It is running exceptionally strongly.
For the finishing touch, it comes equipped with a new aftermarket leather strap designed to replicate the look of the original with original buckle, ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
An more than fifty year old Dynamic that presents like new on the wrist!
Note: Similar Dynamic watches resides in the Omega museum and are published in Marco Richon's work Omega: A Journey Through Time, 2007 near pg. 483.
