1973 Omega De Ville Mens Large Retro Dress TV Shaped Watch - Stainless Steel

Item No. 9069

Around the 1970's Omega commissioned a number of leading designers to create very retro styled watches. Many of the watches we've seen have a certain elegance, but some also pushed the design envelope of the times.

Made for less than three years, the uncommon and really cool wristwatch featured in today's offering is as a prime example of one of these a 70's retro Omega dress watch.

It features a large somewhat TV shaped case with big hoods, a royal blue dial, and a high-grade automatic Omega movement tucked inside the chunky case with water-resistant style screw back.

Measuring a large-for-the-era 37mm in diameter by 44mm long lug tip to tip, it is pleasingly larger than most vintage watches.

Powering the watch is Omega's automatic caliber 1012 engine found in Seamasters and other models from the era. It has 23 jewels, seven more than most Omega's from the era.

The watch has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous condition - our photos couldn't begin to do it justice!

Its wonderful and masculine case presents as mint with a beautiful sunburst finish. Its dial has been meticulously restored - the printing looks Omega factory done to the naked eye.

Despite what the photos seem to suggest, it is a deep rich, royal blue color.

As part of the restoration, the movement has just been fully overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It is running essentially as strongly as a new Omega. It also winds smoothly and is keeping very accurate time.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new calfskin leather strap and aftermarket Omega buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Note: The watch's page on the Omega website can be found here.

A half-century old Omega that presents like new! Don't the miss the chance to own a special retro yet elegant vintage Omega.

Omega Geneve:
Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve). According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.
