Today's offering showcases this very handsome example of one of Omega's classic vintage gent's watches that presents in mint restored condition.
Living up to its name as one of the elegant and sophisticated "De Ville" models, it has a classic and elegant case, strong black dial, and automatic caliber 1012 movement used in Seamasters from the era.
The case has a full size diameter - it measures 35mm without the date, about the same width as a Rolex Datejust.
It is a seldom seen model we think was made only for the Japanese market. Our research turned up less than a handful of other examples and they had the upgraded chronometer grade cal. 1011 movement and were badged on the dial as Constellations, although they were otherwise identical to this watch.
We have owned a previous example that is identical in construction and badging to this one.
It is fully Omega and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. The photos couldn't do it justice.
The case presents as mint. The original dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
The movement has been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker and is running very strong and true, keeping time on par with a brand new Omega in our testing position.
For the finishing touch it has been equipped with a new calfskin leather strap with aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
A nearly half-century old Omega that looks like new on the wrist!
