Today's offering showcases this classic and meticulously restored c. 1973 Omega Seamaster.
It measures approximately 35mm in diameter without the crown, in between the size of a Rolex Date and a Rolex Datejust. It has a wonderful retro waterproof style case and royal blue dial.
Powering it is Omega's caliber 1012 movement with 23 jewels, seven more than most Omega's from the era.
It is 100% Omega down to the dial, hands, and winding crown.
It has just finished a true expertly done restoration and presents in gorgeous condition. Our photos couldn't do it justice.
Its case presents as mint. Its original Omega dial has been meticulously restored - its printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. Our photos couldn't capture the beauty of the dial.
As part of the restoration the movement has been freshly fully serviced by a Master Watchmaker. It is very clean and running very accurately. Photos of the inside available upon request.
1950's and 60's Seamasters are great buys as parts are readily available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.
For the finishing touch a new aftermarket calfskin leather strap has been installed making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
A nearly half-century old Omega perfectly restored to look like new on the wrist!
Note: Published examples of similar watches can be found in Marco Richon's work Omega: A Journey Through Time, 2007, pg. 403.
The Seamaster:
Worn on the wrists of celebrities Michael Schumacher, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Phelps, and Ernie Els. Omega timepieces rank with Rolex and other of the world's fine Swiss firms.
Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.
