1973 Omega Vintage Seamaster Large Uncommon Retro Mens Watch, Automatic, Date - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 7651

Today's offering showcases this gorgeously restored Omega Seamaster from c. 1973. It is an uncommon model - one of the first automatic Seamasters in a non-round case.

It has a pleasingly large (for the era) 38mm case.

It is a later model vintage Seamaster. Built at a time when the quartz revolution was taking hold and Omega was cutting costs, this watch with automatic Cal. 1012 movement with quick-setting date carried on the mechanical tradition of the Seamaster. It is the finer higher jeweled version of the 101x series, with twenty-three jewels, six more than in the caliber 1010.

A slightly underappreciated Omega, it has a cool retro style and great presence on the wrist. The dial has a slight electric blue quality to it because of its gloss finish and the markers are very tall - they give the dial a wonderful three-dimensional quality that only the photo of the watch facing forward could begin to show.

Omega used its brand new-at-the-time slim automatic winding system which allowed the movement to fit into an elegant rectangular watch without it becoming to bulky.

It features a screwed in case back for water-resistance.

It is fully Omega down to the original hands and signed winding crown.

It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. Our photos couldn't do it justice!

Its large case is in beautiful condition. It shows light signs of previous polishing to the case back. On the wrist it presents as perfect mint. Its original dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

A Master Watchmaker has disassembled it down to its last screw and overhauled it. It winds very smoothly.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

A four and a half decade old Omega that presents almost like new!
