It is a midsized watch that is slightly larger than a vintage men's Cartier Tank.

We were fortunate to acquire this very rare IWC in near new-old-stock condition with its original protective sticker still on the back. It has been in the owner's personal collection for the last four and a half years. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice.

This incredibly pleasing watch with exotic materials is a prime top-tier offering from the Schaffhausen firm. It is a rare reference. We were very fortunate to acquire it. It is rich in details, and the design and execution are exquisite!

The diamonds are near perfect as one would expect from original IWC factory set diamonds.

The handful of other examples of this that our extensive research turned up all have onyx or bloodstone dials. This is the only example we have ever seen with mother of pearl.

Only two have ever been offered at major auction houses - one at Christies more than a decade and a half ago one at Sotheby's seventeen years ago, in 2007. It sold for $10,000. A link to the auction can be found here.

For the case decoration IWC used exotic coral, seldom seen on watches, whose color and pattern gives each one of these watches a unique style.

This special watch is all-original down to its original IWC buckle and has never been polished. Though a half-century old, it is in near new-old-stock condition, appearing to have been worn seldom and carefully in appreciation of its quality and value. It still has a protective sticker on the back.

Its beautiful mother-of dial is original and untouched, in mint condition. It has never-polished case is just short of mint with only light wear visible under very close scrutiny or magnification.

One of our Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $595 value).

We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping very accurate time.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment. Also included is a second slightly worn crocodile strap with the watch's original IWC buckle.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
