1976 Omega Seamaster Mens Watch, Automatic, Quick-Set Day & Date - Stainless Steel

Item No. 8198

Today's offering showcases this gorgeous restored vintage Omega Seamaster day date with caliber 1022 movement. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice!

As a Seamaster, it's a watch that has both elegance and sport capabilities.

Here are some of its features:

  • Pioneering so-called "double quick-set" day and date features - This is an early double quick-setting day date Omega watch. Omega created the 1020 and 1022 series movement with a double quick-set capability for convenient setting of the day and date. Though many connoisseurs associate the idea of the double quick-set watch with Rolex, which first offered the President model with this "new" feature in late 1990, Omega's 1020 series mechanisms were a pioneer of the technology in large scale production watches.
  • Caliber 1022 movement. Fast beat (28,800 bph) balance system for greater accuracy and the higher jeweled version caliber - it has 23 jewels instead of 17
  • Seamaster model for the U.S. market. Quite of few examples of this model, which was created by the Norman Morris Agency is New York, that were in solid gold were branded and sold through Tiffany & Co.
  • Fully Omega and presents in true expertly restored condition. It is fully Omega down to its dial, hands, signed winding crown, and waterproofing seal!

It presents as about a 9.7 out of a perfect 10. Its case presents as mint. Since the photos were taken the back has been carefully aligned so the brushing is perfectly vertical.

Its Omega dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration the movement has been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker, which is very clean. It is keeping time on par with a new Omega chronometer in all five chronometer testing positions.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new calf leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

A more than four decade old Omega that looks like new on the wrist!

The Seamaster:
Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.

According to Omega, "OMEGA’s sporty Seamaster collection is a tribute to the brand’s maritime legacy. This exquisite example of our renowned watchmaking pays homage to OMEGA’s dive watch heritage and our adventurous pioneering spirit."
