Today's offering showcases this very cool "Albert Pellaton" IWC with a classic retro look in amazing condition. It is in very rare untouched like new-old-stock condition with its original box.
Powering it is it cal. 8541 movement, part of the caliber 85 family of movements designed by Albert Pellaton and that feature his renowned winding system. This mechanism's automatic winding system is a technical masterpiece, earning it high praise - Gisbert Brunner and Christian Pfeiffer-Belli in their work, Wristwatches Armbanduhren Montres-bracelets, proclaimed it "one of the best automatic movements ever built in Switzerland."
The company built this watch at the same time they were building their famous Ingenieur line which also had watches powered by the caliber 8541.
It has never been opened since leaving the IWC factory. The case has never been polished - it's completely original and untouched. It has just the slightest bit of wear, which is hardly more than handling wear. It's a true time capsule piece.
Its winding is very smoothly, and it is running very true, although a servicing is recommended if it is to be used regularly. Please inquire if you would like our Master Watchmaker to perform the work.
Besides making a special addition to a fine collection, this could make an incredible 40th birthday gift for someone special.
We purchased five watches from the daughter of the original owner and the original owner's spouse, including this watch and another IWC in comparable condition.
Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
