Today's offering showcases this meticulously custom restored vintage Omega Seamaster with date. It is fully Omega with its Omega dial custom refinished in a Candy Apple red hue.
Built at a time when the quartz revolution was taking hold and Omega was cutting costs, this watch with automatic Cal. 1012 movement with quick-setting date carried on the mechanical tradition of the Seamaster.
Its retro styled case is full size. It measures 35mm diameter, in between the sizes of a Rolex Date and a Rolex Datejust.
Its dial has been custom refinished in a striking red. If you have a Rosso Corsa red Ferrari or Guards Red Porsche or if you just love red, this would be a pleasing watch. It shifts brightness a bit depending on the light.
It is 100% Omega down to the hands, crown and even waterproofing gasket! It is in true expertly cosmetically restored condition - on the wrist it presents almost like new.
The case back bears the reference number from the exact same watch but with day date movement - it may have come that way from the factory or it may have been replaced at some point.
Its case presents a mint. As does its bracelet which has only mild stretch. Its dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
Its movement, the higher-jeweled 23 jewel version from the 1010 series, has been freshly cleaned and oiled. It continues to time at approximately -1 second per hour.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
