1979 Cartier Vintage Ladies Tank Watch with Deployment Buckle - Solid 18K Gold

cartier

Item No. 5348

Designed personally by Louis Cartier in 1917 and patterned after an army tank, Cartier's Tank watches symbolized speed and achievement and have become one of the company's iconic models.

Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of quartz movements for certain wristwatches, Cartier utilized Swiss-crafted mechanical movements. Using centuries old watchmaking practices, craftsmen poured individual attention into each wristwatch.

Today's offering showcases this beautiful ladies Cartier Tank. It has a solid 18K gold tank case, classic original white Roman dial with blue steel hands, sapphire topped crown, Cartier handwound mechanism, and solid 18K gold Cartier deployment buckle (The buckle alone would sell for approx. $600-700).

It is 100% Cartier including the strap and buckle and in beautiful condition. On the wrist it presents as just short of mint. Our watchmaker has freshly serviced the movement.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
