1979 Rolex Oyster perpetual Date (Datejust) Mens Watch, Champagne Dial - 14K Gold

Rolex

Item No. 6449SH

Today's offering showcases this handsome and all-original Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date model encased in 14K gold. The Date model is essentially a Datejust with a slightly smaller diameter (34mm instead of 36mm).

We also have a worn correct original 14K Rolex Jubilee bracelet that could be installed on it if you would like. Please inquire.

Powered by the highly regarded Caliber 1570 movement, the mechanism that powered Datejust watches as well early Submariner, Explorer, and GMT models, this original vintage classic is worthy of a home in a fine collection or under the cuff of a deserving gentleman.

Here is a little more about this special watch:

  • 14K gold Oyster case
  • Self-winding movement, officially certified by the Swiss watch governing body
  • Rolex Twinlock screw down crown for water resistance
  • Acrylic crystal with magnifying 'cyclops' window for easy reading of the date
  • Beautiful original champagne dial in mint condition.
  • Elegant fluted gold bezel

It is fully original down to the dial, hands, and winding crown. Its case is in beautiful condition and presents on the wrist as just short of mint. Three of the four lugs are still nice and fat with only the slightest signs of having been polished.

The original champagne dial is mint. And the chronometer movement is running very true.

Our Master Watchmaker has just performed any needed servicing on the watch and installed new genuine Rolex gaskets.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
