Piaget is one of the hottest brands of the year, and we've proud to offer this exceptional example, alongside several other special Piagets in our carefully curated collection.
Today's offering showcases this exclusive mens ultra-thin Piaget watch crafted from a significant amount of 18K gold. An incredibly fine ultra-thin watch, it measures a mere 4.8mm thick including the crystal!
As one of the world's leader in "haute couture" watches, Piaget's clients include kings and queens, princes and princesses, and Hollywood actors. Many of their inspired designs blur the distinction between watches and jewelry.
Made from 18K gold, it is wonderfully crafted and decorated. An incredible amount of original hand-done jewelers work by Piaget's master craftsman went into the bracelet, whose repeating bark decoration matches the dial, which feels substantial with quite a bit of gold weight. Unlike most watches of this style it has removeable links with tiny gold screws so that it can be easily sized.
The bracelet features literally a couple or several thousand tiny hand-wrought pyramids that give it its textured, tone-shifting quality. It is a true statement piece. Our photos couldn't do it justice.
Its thin case serves as a fitting housing for one of the thinnest movements ever made, Piaget's award-winning 9P series high grade movement.
Its renowned movement, one of the world's first ultra-thin wristwatch engines, measures a mere 2.15mm thick - less than the thickness of a US half-dollar! Despite its small size, it sacrifices nothing in performance, having earned a reputation as one of the most refined and reliable mechanisms on the supreme level of fine watchmaking.
We have not polished the watch or done anything to the outside of it. It is in fabulous all-original condition.
Its case is just short of mint with only light wear. Its unpolished case retains all of its original Piaget factory done satin on the case back. Its dial repeats the same tiny pyramid texturing of the case and bracelet. It is original and untouched, in mint condition. Its bracelet is just short of mint as well.
One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker and has done authorized work for the Cartier Service Center and the Richemont Group, the owners of Piaget, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (an $895 value).
It is running strong and true. We have also tested it on a machine that spins it in all directions simulating it being worn on the wrist - it is keeping very accurate time.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
The retail price for a 18K gold Piaget like this today would be approx. $50,000 USD + Tax.
The complete watch weighs 110.09 grams. We estimate just the gold value in the case and bracelet to be over $6,000.
