Today's offering showcases this meticulously restored c. 1969 Omega Seamaster Cosmic.
It has a cool retro style, beautiful sunburst finished case, and strong dial with distinctive "wide boy" markers.
Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 565 with 24 jewels (seven more than in many similar Omega's) and quick-setting date, one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. Omega's 500 series was one of the finest mass produced automatics from the era, and the 565 was the highest offering in the series.
It measures approximately 35mm in diameter without the crown, in between the size of a Rolex Date and a Rolex Datejust.
It is 100% Omega down to the dial, hands, and winding crown. It has just finished a true expertly done restoration and presents in gorgeous condition. The case presents as just short of mint with signs of polishing wear to the back. On the wrist it presents as gorgeous mint.
The dial, which features 1/5 second markings for precision, technical, and sporting timing, has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
As part of the restoration the movement has been fully serviced by a Master Watchmaker.
For the finishing touch a new calfskin leather strap has been installed making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
A high-grade classic Seamaster that presents like new on the wrist!
Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.
According to Omega, "OMEGA’s sporty Seamaster collection is a tribute to the brand’s maritime legacy. This exquisite example of our renowned watchmaking pays homage to OMEGA’s dive watch heritage and our adventurous pioneering spirit."
