Cartier Santos:
Cartier created the Santos in honor of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. Alberto Santos-Dumont, a true aviation pioneer, flew in France and Europe in some of the first prototype airplanes. After hearing complaints from him friend about how difficult it was to access his pocket watch in the cockpit, Cartier rose to the challenge by creating a special watch that could be strapped to the wrist.
