The Octagon is a seldom seen watch in the Santos line and is one of the affordable distinctive luxury watches. It is beautifully styled and its eight-sided bezel is suggestive of the iconic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.

This beautiful Certified Pre-Owned mens midsize Octagon measures 31mm wide and the crown and guards add a couple more millimeters. Although it is the largest version of the Octagon, by today's standards it is a unisex size, perfect for a man with a small wrist or a woman who prefers a larger size than the rather dainty size of the ladies version of this watch.

It features a stainless steel case with 18K gold octagonal bezel, classic white Roman dial with blue steel "epee" hands, sapphire topped crown, and mechanical Cartier movement. Unlike the quartz version of the Santos, this more desirable mechanical example possesses an automatic movement and in a way showcases the timeless art of traditional watchmaking.

It is fully Cartier and presents in gorgeous condition - about a 9.5 out of 10. Its case presents as just short of mint condition. Unlike many examples whose lightly stamped registration is no longer intact from previous polishing, this watch's original number is still readable.

Its dial presents as mint condition. The bracelet only has very light stretch and one stiff link. The finish of the bracelet presents as mint. On the wrist, the watch presents nearly like new.

A Master Watchmaker has fully serviced it ($495 value). Note that the waterproofing gasket in the crown normally makes this model slightly stiff to wind, even after servicing. That is not the case with this watch. It winds quite easily, much better than most of these watches. But if you would prefer never to hand wind its small crown, it's a great candidate to be placed on a watch winder for convenience.
