Worn by Jennifer Aniston, Anna Wintour, and the late Princess Diana, Cartier's watches have long been favorites of royalty, Hollywood celebrities, and any woman desiring to wear a timepiece of distinction.
Recognized as the first true Cartier wristwatch, the Santos, was created in 1904. Cartier created the Santos in honor of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. Alberto Santos-Dumont, a true daring aviation pioneer, flew in France and Europe in some of the first prototype airplanes.
The Cartier Santos Vendome watch for women embodies beauty, sturdiness, and purity. Its marriage of angular lines with pure, concentric circles give it a distinctive and interesting style.
This Santos exhibits Cartier's classic sophistication and is easily recognizable at a glance. It features the Santos' classic stainless steel case with 18K gold bezel, Roman dial with epee hands, sapphire topped crown, and quartz movement.
Of the various case material selections, the two-tone Santos Vendome is especially versatile and suited for both casual and dress.
The original dial has been previously expertly custom refinished in wine or oxblood. The gilt printing could pass as Cartier factory done to the naked eye. Note that it appears much brighter under the photography lights than it does in person. Also, what appears to be a dark spot at 3 & 4 is just the reflection of the camera.
The original bezel has previously been aftermarket set by a jeweler with brilliant sparkling diamonds that are white and eye clean.
It is fully Cartier and presents as gorgeous condition.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
