Designed personally by Louis Cartier in 1917 and patterned after an army tank, Cartier's Tank symbolized speed and achievement, and an unstoppable force. Today, these watches are easily recognized across a room as a Cartier.
This Certified Pre-Owned mens vintage Tank features a traditional solid 18K gold tank case, classic white Roman dial with blue steel hands, sapphire topped crown, and Cartier mechanical movement.
Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of cheaper quartz movements for certain wristwatches, Cartier utilized Swiss-crafted mechanical movements. Using centuries old watchmaking practices, craftsmen poured individual attention into each wristwatch. Because of this extra care and craftsmanship, Cartier wristwatches with mechanical movements are often considered more desirable than their quartz counterparts.
It is fully Cartier down to the band and buckle and presents beautifully. The watch itself presents as about a 9.5 out of 10.
One of our watchmakers has fully disassembled the watch down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it making it ready for immediate enjoyment. It is running strong and true, keeping time on par with a new Cartier watch in our testing position.
Accompanying it are its original Cartier certificate card and its Cartier servicing pouch.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, and a new Connoisseur of Time new timing certificate.
Worn by Bill Clinton, Elton John, and Djimon Hounsou, Cartier watches have long been favorites of royalty, Hollywood celebrities, and any gentleman desiring to wear a timepiece of distinction.
