It is an uncommon Vermeil version signed only Cartier on the brand portion of dial.

Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of cheaper quartz movements for many wristwatches, Cartier contracted with watch manufacturers to produce mechanical movements designed to last a lifetime. Using traditional watchmaking practices, these gifted craftsmen gave individual attention to each wristwatch. As a result, Cartier wristwatches with mechanical movements are often more sought after by collectors than their quartz counterparts.

We were fortunate to acquire our Tank in all original condition.

It is an attractive and honest original Tank. The vermeil case retains strong geometry. It is in excellent with only fairly light signs of wear and none of the gold wearthrough that is common with these watches.

Its classic and uncommon dial is in just short of perfect mint condition. Its original and untouched lacquer surface does not show any crazing.

One of our Master Watchmakers who has done authorized servicing work for Cartier's Service Center and who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has freshly serviced the watch which consisted of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a correct new mainspring and crystal, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $895 value).

A Master Watchmaker has just freshly overhauled the movement. It is running strong and true, keeping very accurate time.

For the finishing touch, we have installed a new-old-stock Must de Cartier band and buckle and meticulously detailed the watch making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
