Worn by Jennifer Aniston, Anna Wintour, and the late Princess Diana, the company's watches have long been worn by royalty, Hollywood celebrities, and any woman desiring to wear a luxury timepiece.
Designed personally by Louis Cartier in 1917 and patterned after an army tank, Cartier's iconic Tank watch symbolized speed and achievement.
Today's offering showcases this Certified Pre-Owned ladies vermeil Cartier Tank watch with diamond encrusted case. It has an iconic tank case, classic Roman dial, gold epee hands, sapphire topped crown, and mechanical Cartier movement.
Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of cheaper quartz movements for many wristwatches, Cartier contracted with watch manufacturers to produce mechanical movements designed to last a lifetime. Using traditional watchmaking practices, these gifted craftsmen poured individual attention into each wristwatch. As a result, Cartier wristwatches with mechanical movements are often more sought after by collectors than their quartz counterparts.
It has just finished a true expert restoration and presents in gorgeous condition on the wrist. The diamonds have been previously added by a jeweler (aftermarket - not Cartier).
The back shows signs of having previously been polished - some of the wording is light. On the wrist the watch presents essentially like new. One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new alligator strap and the watch's original Cartier buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Note the current strap on the watch has a slightly different grain pattern than the one shown in the photos. Please inquire if you would like a photo.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
