Cartier Vintage Mens Tank Watch with Black Dial - Gold Vermeil, 18K Gold over Sterling Silver

Item No. 6406

Designed personally by Louis Cartier in 1917 and patterned after an army tank, Cartier's iconic Tank watch symbolized speed and achievement.

Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of cheaper quartz movements for many wristwatches, Cartier contracted with luxury watch manufacturers to produce mechanical movements designed to last a lifetime. Using traditional watchmaking practices, these gifted craftsmen poured individual attention into each wristwatch. As a result, mens Cartier wristwatches with mechanical movements are often more sought after by collectors than their quartz counterparts.

Today's offering showcases this all-original and very handsome mens vermeil Cartier Tank.

It features the iconic tank case, elegant and strong black dial, gold epee hands, sapphire topped crown, and mechanical Cartier movement. Originally designed for men by today's standard it could easily be worn by a woman.

Our watchmaker has freshly cleaned and oiled its Cartier movement which is keeping very accurate time. For the finishing touch we have installed a brand new black lizard strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment. Also included is the watch's worn orignial black lizard Cartier strap.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
