It possess exquisite style, designed by Gerald Genta. Its opulent bark style case and buckle are made from three colors of solid 18K gold, yellow, rose, and white. Adding to it is its exotic wood dial which adds depth and elegance. Completing the extraordinary wood motif is an unusual crown topped with cabochon shaped wood.
For those unfamiliar, Gerald Genta is generally recognized as the most famous and greatest luxury watch designer of the last century. Beginning in 1970, he created some of the most high-end iconic watch designs including Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, the Patek Philippe Nautilus, certain versions of the Omega Constellation, the Bvlgari Bvlgari, and the reinvention of the IWC Ingenieur. He also launched the watch brand that bears his name, and that this watch is from.
With a resume that includes so many luxurious labels, it is no surprise that Gerald Genta incorporated the sophistication of an elite brand, while deftly designing ultra-sophisticated and daring designs. Hailing from the headquarters of the watchmaking epicenter of Switzerland, Gerald Genta is recognized for pushing technical boundaries, while infusing the rich heritage of the master craftsmans of his motherland.
This is an exclusive watch likely made in a very small run - you'll be the only person you'll ever know who owns one of these. We have never seen another like it and have only seen one other version from the same run.
We were fortunate to acquire it in beautiful original condition - it presents as about a 9.2 out of 10 condition. Its case is better than near mint and its dial, which appears to be burl, is mint.
It comes fitted with a new aftermarket band and the watch's matching original buckle.
Powering the watch is a caliber 78x movement, the exact movement used in Cartier Tanks from the period. One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Accompanying the watch is its original box. This is a watch that likely carried quite a hefty retail price when it was new.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
