Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Diver Co-Axial Titanium Watch - $8500, *New*

Omega

Item No. 7152

Although the mechanical watchmaking industry has a history of progressing slowly over time, one invention carried it a giant leap, the co-axial Escapement.Considered by many to be one of the most significant watch technology advancements in the last 250 years, the co-axial escapement functions with little need for lubrication.

Until 1999, these escapements could not be found on watches selling for less than $150,000. That all changed when Omega released to the world a new line of co-axial watches.

At the forefront of these watches stands the Seamaster Planet Ocean, a truly inspired marriage of form and function.

Today's offering showcases this uncommon Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m in titanium, the most current model with ceramic bezel. While most of these watches were made in steel, the titanium version gives all the needed functionality and depth rating while being much lighter on the wrist. When you're wearing it it feels as light as a steel dress watch.

According to Omega, Liquidmetal™ is an alloy which is considerably harder than stainless steel yet bonds seamlessly with ceramics. The blended materials are particularly resistant to scratching and corrosion. Its retail price is also just under $2000 more than the plain steel version.

From the clear, legible dial to the curved, brushed case-edges and chunky solid back with its embossed seahorse, this is a well-designed and handsome timepiece. It exudes quality and feels luxurious and sports-worthy - waterproof to 2000 ft because of helium escape valve. Slightly bold while staying classy, dynamic, and extremely capable it's sure to get a second look.

It is the 37.5mm midsize edition, a great watch for those who don't have a large wrist.

It is new from an Omega retailer and has never been sold to a retail customer. It has not been polished or altered since leaving the factory.

Accompanying it are its Omega boxes, certificate card (open), and instruction booklet. If the watch is not warranted through Omega, we are also including with the purchase our own one-year C.O.T. warranty.
