Omega Speedmaster Mens Day Date Limited Edition Michael Schumacher Racing Stainless Steel Chronograph Watch, 3529.50 - Papers & Boxes

Omega

Item No. 8345SH

Today's offering showcases this complicated Certified Pre-Owned limited edition Michael Schumacher Racing Speedmaster, ref. 3529.50.00. Besides the chronograph the watch also possesses a triple date calendar and twenty-four hour time indication.

Made in a limited edition of 5555 pieces, this watch is numbered 4849.

One of the dedicated racing models from the past, it was introduced to celebrate the 5th Formula 1 World Championship won by then Omega ambassador Michael Schumacher.

He won the fifth championship on July 21st, 2002, precisely 33 years after the Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin set foot on the Moon. To commemorate the event, Omega introduced in 2003 this modified Speedmaster Day-Date with a carbon dial, red racing accents on the dial, checkered flag sub dial and an engraved case back.

The watch was introduced during the Baselworld show of 2003 and came with a special box and certification of authenticity; as you can see, the box and warranty card holder match the look of the carbon fiber dial.

Its case and bracelet both carry a traditional speedy look with black bezel while its carbon fiber dial gives it a very distinct sleek racing style. It is a more recent Speedy with newer style bracelet.

It is 100% Omega down to the waterproofing seal and presents in gorgeous condition - a 9.5 out of 10.

Its case, whose engraving shows a signature of Michael Schumacher, ‘World Champion 2002’ and his name in full, and limited edition numbering, is just short of mint, as is its bracelet. Its dial and sapphire are both mint. On the wrist it presents as mint.

Its caliber 1151 movement is very clean - it continues to keep time on par with a brand new Speedy in our testing position. Photos of the inside, back, and clasp available upon request.

Accompanying it are its original inner and outer boxes, booklets, certificate card, and even original sales tag with the watch's model and serial number on it - a complete set. Like many similarly designed boxes from the era, the inner box is experiencing some flaking.

Also accompanying the watch are a brand new Omega leather strap and brand new Omega deployment buckle for the watch, both still factory sealed in plastic.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

Speedmaster:
In 1957, Omega unveiled a chronograph that was a true technological marvel, the Speedmaster. Its incredible durability and accuracy would not only win it accolades around the world and the distinction of being the first watch to be worn on the moon, it would accomplish something far more important, guiding the crew of Apollo 13 safely back home after their malfunctioning electronic systems had shut down.
