Item No. 7570

Today's offering showcases this original very cool and highly functional first generation Speedmaster X-33 in gorgeous condition with original certificate. Our photos couldn't do it justice!

These Speedmaster Professional watches have been discontinued for sale though they are said to still be available for purchase by space agencies.

As the story goes, the X-33 was developed by Omega allegedly by receiving input from NASA astronauts and pilots about what functionalities they found useful. After five years of testing and prototyping the X-33 all of the requirements were met to be officially qualified for Space missions by NASA.

Omega launched the watch on March 28, 1998, at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, and the unveiling was conducted in conjunction with a live satellite uplink to the Russian MIR space station, which already had pre-release prototypes of the X-33 aboard for final testing.

Saying the X-33 is feature rich would be an understatement. It features a titanium case with 4 pushers and titanium bracelet, a large display with local time, date (perpetual calendar), programmable alarm, mission timer, mission alarm, universal time (GMT), universal alarm, countdown timer (with alarm) and a chronograph.

This X-33 is fully Omega and presents as mint. It presents as a 9.6 out of 10. All functions work well including the backlight.

A Master Watchmaker has installed a new battery and performed any needed servicing making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Accompany it is its original certificate showing a purchase date of August 1999.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function.

Note: A comprehensive article on the X-33 can be found here.
