Designed for lovers of beautiful objects, the exceptionally styled Santos Dumont embodies Cartier's classic sophistication.
This Certified Pre-Owned ladies Santos Dumont from the Collection Privee features an ultra-slim 18K case, classic white Roman dial with blue steel hands, sapphire topped crown, and high grade, hand-crafted mechanical movement.
Unlike modern quartz watches, this beautiful mechanism dramatically showcases the timeless art of traditional watchmaking at its finest.
The ultra thin movement is unusally high-grade for a vintage Cartier and is actually a Frederic Piguet caliber made for Cartier. It is very finely finished and adjusted to six positions, like only the finest watches normally are.
It is in very pleasing original condition and presents as close to mint. It presents as about a 9 out of 10 or better.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
Cartier Santos:
Celebrated for their impeccable quality and flawless designs, Cartier watches rank among the most luxurious and expensive in the world. Worn by Jennifer Aniston, Anna Wintour, and the late Princess Diana, the company's watches have long been favorites of royalty, Hollywood celebrities, and any woman desiring to wear a timepiece of distinction.
Cartier created the Santos-Dumont in honor of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. Alberto Santos-Dumont, a true daring aviation pioneer, flew in France and Europe in some of the first prototype airplanes. After hearing complaints from him friend about how difficult it was to access his pocket watch in the cockpit, Cartier rose to the challenge by creating a special watch that could be strapped to the wrist.
