Today's offering showcases this classic and meticulously restored Seamaster De Ville cased in the early 1960's with desirable beads of rice bracelet.
The Seamaster DeVille, showcasing both refinement and high function, was the most important Omega line from a sales perspective from the latter part of the 1960's into the 1970's.
It has a monocoque - or one piece - case which insured water resistance and slim, elegant profile. The case, when new, achieved high water resistance ratings by not having a separate case back.
Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 552 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs, and the top tier offering of the 500 series.
It is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.
It measures 34.5mm in diameter without the crown, just slightly larger than the size of a Rolex Date watch.
It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration.
It presents as mint with light signs of previous polishing. Its dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. It has a much deeper and rich darker tone than our photos suggest. They couldn't begin to do it justice.
Its original Omega "beads of rice" bracelet presents as mint on the wrist.
As part of the restoration, the movement has been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It is running strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a new Omega in our testing recording position.
For the finishing touch, we have painstakingly detailed making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
