The Speedmaster Reduced showcased in today's offering is a prime original example of one of the classic automatic watches in the Speedmaster line. It remains at very high condition levels - about a 9.4 out of 10, and the luminous has toned just enough to give the watch a bit of a classic look. The bezel insert is mint. The watch presents even nice than the photos suggest.
Our Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the watch which consists of completely disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with Omega parts, reassembling and lubricating the movement, replacing all of the waterproofing seals with new gaskets, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).
It continues to keep time essentially on par with a new Speedmaster.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
Omega Speedmaster:
In 1957, Omega unveiled a chronograph that was a true technological marvel, the Speedmaster. Its incredible durability and accuracy would not only win it accolades around the world and the distinction of being the first watch to be worn on the moon, it would accomplish something far more important, guiding the crew of Apollo 13 safely back home after their malfunctioning electronic systems had shut down. The Speedmaster is one of the most prominent chronograph models in watch collecting.
