For those unfamiliar, Gerald Genta is perhaps the most famous luxury watch designer of the last century. Beginning in 1970, he created some of the most high-end iconic watch designs including Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, the Patek Philippe Nautilus, certain version of the Omega Constellation, the Bvlgari Bvlgari, and the reinvention of the IWC Ingenieur before lauching his own watch brand.

With a resume that includes so many luxurious labels, it is no surprise that Gerald Genta incorporateed the sophistication of an elite brand, while deftly designing ultra-sophisticated and daring designs. Hailing from the headquarters of the watchmaking epicenter of Switzerland, Gerald Genta is recognized for pushing technical boundaries, while infusing the rich heritage of the master craftsman of his motherland.

This double retrograde watch is a defining example of haute horlogerie principles. Built from 18K rose gold, its extra-large 43mm case of showcases several distinct textures. As does its cloisonné enamel which employs elegant yet distinctive contrasts. Creativity does not stop on the outside - powering this gem is Genta's complicated, hand-crafted caliber 7722 movement complete with two retrograde functions.

Retrograde displays have become popular with producers of high horology. Rather then a typical display in which a hand (such as a minute hand) completes a 360 degree revolution, a retrograde display completes 180 degree journey before flying back instantaneously to begin its travel once more.

We were fortunate to acquire it in mint original condition. The watch itself presents as about a 9.8 or 9.9 out of 10 condition. It retains it original factory applied satin finish. Its original band shows only light wear.

We have tested the watch and it contiues to function at like new levels.
