Graham Silverstone GMT Mens "Big Date" Chronograph Watch - Stainless Steel

Graham

Item No. 8758

Large, bold, and striking, this Certified Pre-Owned Graham Silverstone GMT men's Big Date watch is a distinctive addition to any collection and wardrobe. Complete with unmistakable signs of being a true Graham timepiece, such as the large and long capped chronograph pushers and oversized crown, it is a for people statement piece for people with a strong personality.

Pronounced "Graham's best automotive watch to date" by Forbes, it is a special timepiece in an exclusive limited edition. Ours is numbered 069.

Silverstone GMT gets its name from the famous Silverstone racetrack in England, which hosted its first race in 1947. In 1950, the first Formula One race was held at Silverstone. Since that time, the track has become known as the home of British racing so Graham saw fit to honor it with a watch bearing its name.

It's wide, it's powerful, and it's ready for the road. Featuring Grand Guichet (big date), chronograph, and GMT complications, all layered on top of an automatic movement, this full-featured watch showcases fine, complicated modern Swiss watchmaking.

Powering the watch is its Graham movement based on the Valjoux 7750 and made by Jaquet-Baume SA, the firm in La Chaux-de-Fonds, one of the important cities of Swiss watchmaking that houses firms like Omega and Breitling, that specialized assembling and finishing Valjoux ebauches and the development of advanced complications, including tourbillons.

During the early 2000's, Jaquet made movements for customers including Franck Muller, Girard-Perregaux, FP Journe, and the Richemont brands.

We were fortunate to acquire it in mint condition - a strict 9.8 out of 10 or possibly a 9.9, is like new. Even the small, recessed screw heads on the back are in excellent condition. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice.

It comes to market after residing in the owner's personal collection for the last year.

Its automatic movement has just been fully overhauled by a Master Watchmaker and is keeping time on par with a new watch.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a calfskin strap and the watch's original buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Last known retail price: $11,995.00 USD + tax (Today it would have an even higher retail price). Like new yet available for a small fraction of the retail price.

Graham:
Graham is a historic British brand which has been re-started by the Swiss watch company, The British Masters, which is now simply named “Graham London”.

With the Graham brand, the British Masters desired to build on the tradition of the great British watchmakers, namely George Graham (1673-1751).

Graham is now a combination of English heritage and Swiss watchmaking. Since namesake George Graham is considered by some to be the father of the chronograph, all Graham watches are chronographs. Many are left-handed, with the crown on the left side of the face in traditional British racing fashion. Graham specializes in racing-inspired watches.
