Today's offering showcases this handsome Rolex Oysterdate Precision that presents beautifully.
The Oysterdate Precision have become desirable non-sport vintage Rolex watches because their understated and classic design contrast the "busier" look of some of the modern Rolex watches. It's a watch that is at home being worn everyday or only for special occasions. Produced from the early 1950's into the 1980's, it was a strong commercial success for Rolex, winning a large following.
It has its very classic silver dial with gold baton markers and hands. The gold accents give the watch a dressier look than an all-steel Rolex.
It is Rolex down to the original hands and winding crown.
The case presents as better than near mint. Its clean white dial has been previously restored. And its original handwound Rolex movement is clean and running very true. It has just been cleaned and oiled and the waterproofing gaskets replaced with new genuine Rolex seals.
For the finishing touch it has just been meticulously detailed, and we have installed a new high quality genuine crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Note that the slightly too small band that was on the watch when it was photographed has been replaced with one of the correct size.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
A classic Oysterdate with dressier dial.
Note: Published examples of this model can be found in Osvaldo Patrizzi's work Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches, 2001 Edition, Vol. 2, p. 378-381.
