1940's Tiffany & Co. Vintage Triple Calendar Mens 14K Gold Watch - The Calendograph

Tiffany & Co.

Item No. 10171

Like today, in the 1940's no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co. One of the company's very fine offerings were Tiffany & Co. branded watches, many of which were made for the retailer by one of the esteemed Swiss manufacturers.

Today's offering showcases this striking all-original Tiffany & Co. by Movado Calendograph. Powered by a complicated Movado movement, the watch tracks the date, day of the week, and month all through its very fine "in-house" Cal. 470 Movado engine made at the company's workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

The colors of the two-tone dial, blue date track, and red date hand pointer and seconds all provide beautiful interest. It is a pleasing all-original example of one of the company's sought after triple date calendar.

Unlike the more mid-sized version of this watch, this is the full size watch which has fabulous "turtle" lugs and ribbed sides which we have always adored.

We were fortunate to acquire it in such beautiful original condition. It has all of its original parts and both the case and dial presents wonderfully.

The main section of the untouched original dial has warmed to a sepia tone and faded, giving it a true purist vintage look. It is finely elegant.

The outer seconds track has spectacularly ghosted. Its finish presents in excellent condition with only light aging.

Its case presents in excellent condition with only slight signs of previous polishing and very slight wear. On the wrist it presents beautifully.

One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, adjusting and servicing as needed, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $895 value). Photos of the inside available upon request.

It is running very strong and true, keeping very accurate time.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new Teju lizard skin strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime. We provide the best after sale care in the business with an extremely experienced team of four Master Watchmakers all of whom each have over thirty-five years of experience and a large number of parts. One used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealership and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center. He has also done authorized work for the Cartier Service Center.

Movado:

During Movado's glorious period from 1912 through the 1950's, when such innovations as the polyplan movement, Calendomatic, and exceptional in-house chronographs pushed the envelope of horological technology, and original designs such as the Museum watch took their place in history, their wristwatches enjoyed a level of prestige reserved only for works of very fine watchmakers.
